What We Do

Little Characters Theater Troupe encourages imaginations through camps, classes and workshops. We use dramatic play, improv exercises, and script writing to tap into our little characters within and foster creative confidence through engaging instruction.

Our Approach

  • Meet You Where You're At

Theater is an expression of the human condition. We are all born beautiful individuals with differing gifts. We strive to meet our students where they are, whether it’s nervous or excited, first-timers or masters of the stage. We get to know each little character and help them feel comfortable and curious to learn.

  • Learn and Rehearse

We get to know each other and foster a team environment through games, exercises and trust experiences. Then, build confidence, express emotions and grow communication skills by working on scenes, scripts and character development.

  • Encourage and Perform!

Rehearsing with friends is one thing, but performing in front of others can be intimidating! We foster an environment of encouragement by sharing affirmations with each other, and one-on-one prep time with our teachers. It’s a gift to showcase our hard work for our loved ones!

Hi! I’m Hannah Eppling, and I’m so happy you are here! I have a yearning to encourage the hearts of others - and my favorite way to do so is through theater. When I started directing my sister in our basement at the age of four, my parents knew they needed to get me in drama classes ASAP. I was in my first play at the age of eight, and continued on through high school, college and professional work on stage, film and improvisation.

In 2016, I made the move from my 9-5 job to start apprenticing in theater camps and performances in North Carolina. Over the past six years, I’ve directed high school theater, taught middle school theater, led special needs theater classes, and held weekend workshops for students of all ages and abilities.

I have a strong desire to grow lasting relationships and influence my students in innovative, atypical ways. My favorite teaching topics are emotional development, improv and characterization on stage. I believe theater is a beautiful way to grow and share the gifts we were born with.

During the day, when not spending time with my kiddos, Colette and Everett, I work as the Casting Director and Marketing Manager for Theater Delta: an interactive theater company for Social Change.

Testimonials

“I had the opportunity to work with Hannah during my time as a theater student in high school, and she truly is the most wonderful teacher and mentor. Hannah is engaging, energetic, and understanding. She is skilled and very experienced in her profession, yet she meets beginners with a gentle and encouraging hand. I made great strides as an actor under her teaching, but more importantly, she instilled in me the values of hard work, respect, and kindness. Most importantly, she never let me forget that performing is a JOY! I am so thankful for Hannah and everything she has done for me.”

— Gracie, Former High School Student

“Hannah has helped cultivate and grow a love of theater in my daughter for a few years now. Hannah helps children feel comfortable being themselves. She encourages them to be creative and to have fun while doing it.

My daughter is now in a musical theater class and Hannah helps her prepare for auditions. Hannah’s helped her work out any areas she needed to improve on, encouraged her confidence going into auditions, and celebrated with her when she found out her roles.

Anytime spent in Hannah’s classes will be a time laughing, learning, and growing. My children always leave Hannah feeling valued and seen. She truly has a gift in helping kids find their creative side, and she is passionate about her work in this area.”
